Every year, Dealership Minds Summit gives us a pulse check on where the equipment dealer industry is really headed, not the version you read about in a press release, but the version you get from standing on the show floor, talking to the people actually running these businesses. This year was no exception.
Walking In: The Energy Was Real Amongst Equipment Dealers
From the first few minutes on the floor, one thing was obvious… dealers showed up hungry. Hungry for solutions, hungry to learn, hungry to figure out what “best in class” actually looks like for their operation in 2026. There was a genuine sense of innovation in the air. This wasn’t a room full of people going through the motions, times are challenging in the equipment world right now and everyone was eager to learn ways to solve operational issues within their dealerships. It was a room full of operators actively investing time in educating themselves on what’s next for their dealerships.
That kind of energy is contagious, and it’s exactly why events like this matter and why we will continue to attend.
Lessiter Media Brings It Every Year
Credit where it’s due, Lessiter Media, the team behind Dealership Minds, put together another strong showing. Between the industry education sessions, the caliber of dealership group leaders in the room, and the keynote speakers on the agenda, it’s clear a lot of thought goes into making this event worth the trip. It’s become one of the few places where you get real dealer voices in the room, not just vendors talking past each other.
What We Talked About at the Booth
Interestingly, the booth conversations this year weren’t dominated by a flood of questions. Instead, some of the best time we spent was with current customers, catching up on how things are going and talking through customer service, what’s working, what they need more of, and how we can keep showing up for them. Those conversations are the ones that matter most. It’s easy to get caught up chasing new business at a show like this, but checking in with the dealers who already trust you with their operation is just as valuable.
The One Pain Point That Kept Coming Up
If there was a common thread in the conversations happening around the show, it was this, measuring service productivity and time. Dealers are laser-focused on understanding what’s actually happening in their service department, how efficiently jobs are moving, where time is getting lost, and how to get a clearer, more accurate picture of productivity. It wasn’t the loudest conversation in the room, but it was consistent, and it’s a sign of where dealers’ attention is right now.
And When We Talked About Primus?
Interest was high. When Primus came up in conversation, dealers leaned in. That’s the whole point of what we’re building, a DMS platform that doesn’t overcomplicate the day-to-day, that helps dealerships actually see and manage what’s happening in their operation. Get It Done. That’s It. isn’t just a tagline, it’s what dealers are looking for right now, and it showed in the reactions we got.
Our Takeaway
Dealership Minds Summit continues to prove itself as one of the more valuable stops on the calendar, not because of foot traffic or flashy booths, but because of the quality of the people in the room. Equipment dealers who are serious about running better operations, asking the right questions, and staying ahead of the curve.
We left energized, reconnected with customers who matter to us, and more convinced than ever that solving real problems, like service productivity visibility, is where the industry’s attention is headed next.
