The Dealer Associations Behind Primus DMS

06 Oct 2026 • 4 min read

Most dealer relationships don’t start with a sales call. They start in a hotel ballroom at an association meeting, in a conversation between sessions, or in the pages of a trade publication a dealer reads every month.

We have been serving equipment dealers since 1979, when Ed Archambo wrote a dealership management system for a Ford Tractor dealer in Texarkana, Texas. More than four decades later, one thing hasn’t changed, we earn trust by showing up where dealers already are. That’s why equipment dealer associations and industry media groups sit at the core of how we build relationships.

We just launched a new Partners page to recognize the organizations we’re proud to stand with. Here’s why they matter to us, and why they should matter to every dealership.

Why Dealer Associations Matter

Running an equipment dealership is hard work. Parts, service, sales, rentals, accounting, and compliance all compete for the same hours in the day. Dealer associations give owners and managers a place to step back from the daily grind and learn from peers who face the same challenges.

Associations deliver value in three big ways:

  • Advocacy. Associations speak up for dealers on the laws and regulations that affect their businesses, at the state level and beyond.
  • Education. Training, workshops, and conferences help dealership teams sharpen their skills and stay current.
  • Connection. Peer networking gives dealers a trusted place to compare notes on what’s working and what isn’t.

For us, being part of these communities is the best way to listen. The feedback we hear from dealers at association events shapes how Primus DMS grows.

The Associations We Stand With

Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) is the trade association for equipment distributors, manufacturers, and industry suppliers across North America.

North American Equipment Dealers Association (NAEDA) represents agriculture, outdoor power, and light industrial equipment dealers across North America.

Pioneer Equipment Dealers Association works to build the best business environment for equipment dealers in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Deep Southern Equipment Dealers Association supports equipment dealers across the Southeast.

Montana Equipment Dealers Association (MEDA) represents equipment dealers across Montana.

Iowa-Nebraska Equipment Dealers Association (INEDA) represents equipment dealers across Iowa and Nebraska.

Each of these groups brings dealers together, gives them a voice, and helps them run stronger businesses. We’re grateful to be part of what they do.

Industry Media Keeps Dealers Informed

Associations bring dealers together. Industry media keeps them informed between meetings.

Farm Equipment covers dealership management, industry trends, and best practices for farm equipment dealers through its magazine, website, and events. Lessiter Media, the publisher behind Farm Equipment, serves agriculture and equipment dealers through trade publications, websites, and industry events.

Trusted trade media gives dealers practical ideas they can put to work right away. It also gives us a place to share what we’ve learned from working with dealerships every day.

What This Means for Primus Dealers

Software built in a vacuum doesn’t work for dealers. Software built from real conversations does.

The time we spend with associations and industry media keeps us close to the problems dealers are actually trying to solve: inventory visibility, service efficiency, seasonal demand, and the constant need to do more with the same team. That’s the thinking behind Primus DMS. One connected system for parts, service, sales, rentals, and accounting, built by people who know the industry.

Get It Done. That’s It.
